Minneapolis Rocker Kat Perkins Shines On "The Voice"

The season's "The Voice" has been quite impressive, and a big part of that is due to performances by a local rocker who you just may have seen in the Twin Cities.

Kat Perkins, who sang with the Minnesota based rock band Scarlet Haze, has opened for some familiar names including Bret Michaels, Warrant and Bon Jovi.

A new list is out which outlines the top ten disappointing vacation spots in the world. This, as you can imagine, is a look at some of the popular spots to visit in your life. The issue is then, so many others are looking to do the same, which is one of the reasons they make the list.

I have been to Nassau, Bahamas for some beach time with my family. We had a spectacular time, but it comes down to where you stay and how you got there. We did not show up on a cruise ship (which just does NOT sound appealing to me these days), we flew. And our condo was on the beach, with minimal touristy going on around us.

That said, I have been looking at weekend in Vegas, and yeah it also made the list, but I won't be in a casino filled with smoke at 3 in the morning. ;)

KISS Inducted Into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

KISS was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Thursday, and in true Paul Stanley fashion, he took the time to call out the Rock Hall during his speech.

At least he did it without sounding like a total ass.

Joan Jett Joins Nirvana At The Rock Hall Inductions

Nirvana, KISS, Peter Gabriel, Hall and Oates, Cat Stevens, Linda Ronstadt, and The E Street Band were all inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Thursday night.

Original band members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic of Nirvana were joined by Joan Jett for "Smells Like Teen Spirit."



R.E.M. front man Michael Stipe was also on hand to say a few words for Nirvana's induction. "Nirvana were artists in every sense of the word. Nirvana tapped into a voice that was yearning to be heard. Nirvana were kicking against the mainstream. They spoke truth and a lot of people listened."
"They were singular and loud and melodic and deeply original," he added. "And that voice. That voice. Kurt, we miss you. I miss you. This is not just pop music. This is something much greater than that."

Stevie Nicks And Jimmy Fallon Sing Together

On The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, special musical guest Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac stopped by and sang "Stop Draggin' My Hear Around" with Jimmy. They were introduced by former Nirvana band members Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters).
