Ghost Riding A Boat, The Stupidity Never Fails

So here's a guy, all alone on his boat, and decides to "ghost ride" it. Basically, he wants to get on his board without touching the boat, but eventually get back on the boat and in control. The problem was when he couldn't keep up with the boat...and it got away. Too much money, too little brains.
